Today DHS published a regulatory update in the Federal Register announcing that the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List will be amended by adding one qualifying field of study – Environmental/Natural Resources Economics (CIP code 03.0204). This list is used to determine whether an F-1 student has obtained a STEM degree that makes them eligible to apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT).
